Small-displacement Motorcycles in Asian Countries
In countries like India, small-displacement, utilitarian motorcycles are extremely popular. These countries prioritize reliability and dependability, making simple technology the ideal choice. Small and practical commuter bikes are not only affordable to purchase and register, but they are also inexpensive to operate and maintain. Additionally, if something goes wrong, they can often be fixed on the side of the road.
This is why bikes like the Hero MotoCorp Glamour have gained so much popularity. The refreshed Glamour has recently been updated to comply with the latest BS6.2 regulations in the Indian market, bringing some notable improvements. Let's take a closer look at what's new.
Hero Glamour Variants and Pricing
The Hero Glamour is available in two variants: drum and disc. The drum brake variant is priced at just Rs 82,348, while the disc version, which features a front disc brake, is priced at Rs 86,348. The main difference between the two models is their braking systems. The drum version has front and rear drum brakes measuring 130 millimeters, while the disc version has a front-mounted 240-millimeter hydraulic disc brake for more confident stopping power.
Performance and Features
The Glamour is equipped with a 124.7cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine that produces a maximum output of 10.35 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and about 7.3 pound-feet of torque at 6,000 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a five-speed manual transmission. The Glamour also features basic suspension technology, with a standard telescopic fork at the front and shock absorbers at the rear.
Other convenient updates include a digital instrument cluster and a USB charger for charging devices on the go. The Glamour also incorporates Hero's i3s Start/Stop technology, which improves fuel efficiency in stop-and-go traffic. Lastly, the Glamour is available in three color options: Candy Blazing Red, Techno Blue-Black, and Sports Red-Black.
