BMW Unveils New Middleweight Adventure Bikes
BMW Motorrad has introduced its latest lineup of middleweight adventure bikes, including the F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure, and F 800 GS. These bikes cater to different types of riders, offering various features and capabilities.
Engine Specifications
The F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure are equipped with BMW's 895cc parallel twin engine, delivering 77 kilowatts (105 horsepower) at 8,500 rpm and 93 newton-meters (68.6 pound-feet) of torque at 6,750 rpm. On the other hand, the F 800 GS produces 64 kW (87 hp) at 6,750 rpm and 91 Nm (67.1 lb-ft) of torque at the same rpm. BMW Motorrad also offers a 35kW (48 hp) version of the F 800 GS for A2-licensed riders.
Features
All three models come with LED lighting, an adjustable gearshift lever, a 6.5-inch TFT display, two ride modes (Rain and Road), ABS, and traction control. Each bike also offers different standard equipment options.
Weight Reduction
The 2024 F 900 GS and GS Adventure have shed an impressive 14 kilograms (31 pounds) compared to their predecessors. This weight reduction is mainly due to a lighter plastic fuel tank and a redesigned rear section of the bike. The lower center of gravity and mass centralization contribute to improved handling.
Additional Features
The F 900 GS Adventure features an aluminum engine guard and the optional Ride Pro equipment package, which includes hard panniers for added protection and storage. The F 800 GS Adventure comes with heated grips, hand protectors, and a Variocase carrier.

Pricing and availability details for the 2024 F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure, and F 800 GS have not been announced yet. These factors will vary by region, as BMW is an internationally focused manufacturer.
